The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced the appointment of three new members to the Public Service Commission for the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This follows the powers conferred by Section 93 of the Jammu and Kashmir Re-organization Act, 2019, and other related orders.
Appointment Notification Details
As per the notification dated June 13, 2024, issued by the General Administration Department of Srinagar, the Lieutenant Governor is pleased to appoint the following distinguished individuals:
- Mr. Rajiv Singh, who currently serves as a Professor and Head of the Division of Veterinary Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-J, R.S. Pura.
- Mr. Tariq Ahmad Zargar, a JKAS officer, who is the Secretary in the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
- Mr. Yashpal Kotwal, a former Principal District Judge of Samba, who has retired from his judicial duties.
Tenure of Service
The newly appointed members are set to hold their positions until they reach the age of sixty-two years. The effective date of their appointment corresponds with the date they assume office.
